VENSYS Elektrotechnik – Vision and History

VENSYS Elektrotechnik GmbH stands for the realization of a clear idea: with our innovative and environmentally friendly energy solutions, we actively contribute to the economic transformation of our society — towards a future without fossil fuels. In our developments, creativity and technical expertise come together to form the living VENSYS Vision: innovative solutions for our customers, combined with the creation and safeguarding of jobs and apprenticeships — for a clean future powered by renewable energy.

Founded in 2008, VENSYS Elektrotechnik GmbH has evolved into a technology leader for electrical equipment and power electronics. In the early years, our focus was on full converters for the 1.5 MW wind turbine developed by VENSYS AG — gearless, direct drive, and permanently excited. More than 5,000 of these turbines have already been built worldwide. Our portfolio also includes control and regulation units for the nacelle, as well as the complete sensor system for the turbines.

Since 2009 , pitch systems have also been manufactured at our Diepholz site. Thanks to innovative capacitor technology and a modular design, we established a highly standardized series production with extensive in-house manufacturing — setting a new industry benchmark.

2010 the company was certified according to DIN EN ISO 9001:2008. That same year saw the production of our first central inverter for a solar park — a milestone that transferred our wind power expertise into the solar sector. The groundbreaking interconnection of individual solar fields during low-load phases opened up entirely new efficiency potentials.

2011 VENSYS developed a water-cooled converter for the 1.5 MW class — ideal for operation under challenging climatic conditions. This expanded the range of applications for our systems, enabling projects in tropical and arid regions for the first time and supporting development in emerging countries across Africa, South America, and Asia.

Since 2014 VENSYS battery storage solutions have been ensuring off-grid energy supply. In the same year, a solar-plus-storage installation was implemented at the Diepholz site.

2015 marked the launch of two key developments: the hybrid-capable inverter and a lithium-ion battery storage system.

In 2016 the company was successfully recertified according to the management systems DIN EN ISO 9001:2015 and DIN EN ISO 14001:2015.

2017 the introduction of the outdoor storage system followed.

With the VENCON Hybrid Converter, a modular system for versatile applications was developed in 2019 — whether as a battery inverter, PV inverter, wind full converter, or off-grid unit: the VENCON Hybrid combines flexible application options on a new technological level.

2021 VENSYS was recognized for the first time in the TOP 100 competition for its outstanding innovation climate — a success reaffirmed in the following years 2023, 2024 and 2025 erneut bestätigt wurde.

2024 the first customer project featuring the new VENSTORE A200 with a total capacity of 1,400 kWh was successfully commissioned.

For 2025 large-scale projects with a total capacity of over 50 MWh are planned — using the VENSTORE systems A200 and L700. To implement these projects, a second production plant was opened in April 2025.

VENSYS Elektrotechnik – We live environment

VENSYS Elektrotechnik is committed to efficient and environmental-friendly working. We live by this principle, and implement it in our company. This includes own power supply from solar systems both on the company’s roofs and next to our buildings.

In our products, we combine creativity and technical expertise in sense of the VENSYS vision: Innovative solutions for our customers in conjunction with securing jobs and apprenticeship places - for a clean future with renewable energies.

Some projects of active environmental protection have already been implemented. In the course of solar development in 2010, a 160 kW solar system was put into operation on the roofs of our own halls. In addition, electricity and heat are generated by a CHP with a hybrid converter. In the meantime, the photovoltaic system on the company premises has been expanded to around 595 kWp and supplemented by a battery storage system with a capacity of 280 kWh.

Exclusively halogen-free plastics and cable insulations are used in the products of VENSYS Elektrotechnik GmbH, which not only have good fire-retardant effects but also excellent environmental performance in terms of long-term stability and recycling compatibility.

Trainees at VENSYS Elektrotechnik have also contributed to the energy revolution in the company by converting a VW transporter van into an electric vehicle. After official registration, the vehicle will be used for transporting trainees to the vocational school.

The company offers a special facility to employees: two electric cars to be used for car pooling, whereby the way to work can be travelled on emission-free and environmentally-friendly.

With these measures, the company ensures that greenhouse gases are kept to a minimum or avoided altogether.
